A good effort, but...

I came to Vegas from the Midwest specifically for this concert. I've been a Smiths fan since the 80s and enjoyed a lot of Moz's solo stuff over the years. We were planning to come last year but Covid ruined that. Tonight's show started very strong with a near perfect rendition of "How Soon Is Now." Moz was sounding great! But he stumbled a little as the show progressed, digging deep into his song list...playing what I felt were some lesser known tracks. The bass player switched to an upright double bass for "Never Had No One Ever" and had it cranked to 11 - too loud. I'm not much of a fan of that song anyway, but I liked the way he sang it. The band left the stage after playing another great Smiths tune: "Shoplifters Of The World, Unite" (one of my favorites). They returned for one encore, which was marred by some crazy fans running on to the stage. Perhaps they were encouraged when Moz had allowed a fan, who appeared to be disabled, to come on stage and hug him. We felt that was a very kind gesture on his part. He also signed some albums for a few fans during the show. While I'm glad I saw the concert, I was hoping for a better set list.

Now my heart is full!

I must preface this by saying Morrissey is everything to me. There's no one alive I love more. I saved up for months to be able to come to Las Vegas and see him. I was not sure how he'd sound, after not playing for a while, and what the venue would be like.. But as soon as I walked in it was clear the crowd was mostly hardcore fans like me. He sounded amazing. He was self-deprecating and charming and effortlessly cool, as usual. The encore of "Jack the Ripper" and "I've Changed My Plea To Guilty" was awesome. Alain Whyte being back was the icing on the cake. He looked like he was having a great time, and kicked ass. I was a bit disappointed that my small pina colada cost $24 but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised! As always, Moz played what he wanted to, not just all crowd-pleasers. I could've done without "Wedding Bell Blues", and would've loved something from Viva Hate.. But I would watch him sing the alphabet song. The crowd went wild for "Ouija Board, Ouija Board". I was just on cloud 9 the whole time. I loved it so much that I went to the show the next night..but with Ticketmaster's fees causing the tickets to be $52 extra, I used another service! Anyway, this was a great venue, a great audience (minus the obnoxious girls who ran up and refused to leave the stage), and an incredible performance. I'll treasure it forever.

Good Show But Expected More

Morrissey sounded great and I enjoyed the show. From 8:25 pm to 9:00 pm he showed some ridiculous videos that got really old. There were too many and it got really boring and annoying. He was on stage from 9:00-10:15. I would’ve liked him to do more Smiths songs but it was still good. I didn’t care for all the people rushing the stage at the end. He couldn’t sing the last song because of all the interruptions. It ruined it for me. Security tried their best to remove these people but there were so many it was difficult to stop. Tickets were expensive for this show and while it was good, I expected more.
